What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is a state of relaxation and heightened awareness induced by suggestion. Hypnosis is derived from the Greek word 'hypnos' meaning to sleep, whilst in a state of hypnosis you are often deeply relaxed. Hypnotherapy occurs when therapeutic processes are used during the hypnotic state. It is important to be aware that during therapeutic hypnosis you are aware of everything that is going on around you and are fully in control at all times.
How does Hypnotherapy work?
The hypnotic state provides an altered level of consciousness thereby quietening the critical, analytical part of our mind and empowering the more imaginative, creative part to make changes at the subconscious levels. Hypnotherapy can help change your patterns of thoughts, behaviours and perceptions to more positive, beneficial and life enhancing ones. Thus enabling unwanted habits, fears, phobias, negative thoughts and emotions to be transformed.
